I was driving to Calgary, enjoying the beauty that was today, and singing at the top of my lungs when unsuspecting Jessica intercepted unsuspecting bird and THWAP! I screamed, nearly drove off the road and died a little on the inside (I'm sure you all remember the chicken packing incident...I don't do well with birds). I thought perhaps he had hit and fallen off my car, until I glanced over my dash and saw a little floppy bird foot peeking over the hood. At first opportunity I stopped to take a look and discovered little Fredrick (affectionately named by Molly and myself...pronounced Fred-Riech) with his head jammed into a tiny slot in my grill and the rest of his body hanging limply benieth. I'm pretty sure that's not natural.

I felt really, really bad.....you might be able to see a single tear pooling in the corner of my eye.
