Things have been pretty hectic lately. I have been attempting to pack up my room (or my parent's living room rather...gracious parents that they are), I have been getting together with people to say goodbye, and have been sorting out my head for my big move to Abbostford.
I officially leave Alberta on Monday! After church on Sunday I will be driving my already packed car to Calgary to spend some last moments with my Thai friends...on Monday morning I will drive to Kelowna to spend a few days with a friend out there (love you Crystal!), and then will arrive in Abbotsford on August 31st or September 1st. School registration is on September 5th. It all begins...
I had to say goodbye to my brother the other day. That was a bit hard as I don't know when I'll see him again. He has ventured off across the big, blue expanse to try his hand at hitchhiking and sleeping anywhere they allow. He is currently in Ireland with Joel McFadden. Joel will return after 3 weeks and David will continue travelling across Europe on his own.
On another note, the fundraiser on Sunday provided the finances I need for my training in Abbotsford!!! Praise God! A HUGE thank you to all of those who gave!!! I appreciate it so much.
Watch this space as I will be writing about my adventures and updating on my journey west...

New Blog...
So my blog has been re-vamped (by the brilliant Amber Edgar) for my convienience and your viewing pleasure. There are some new photos from my time in England in my photo album, and a new link to the MBMSI website. Also, I will now be posting my prayer requests and things to praise God for so you guys can always be up to date with where I'm at, what I'm struggling with, and what I'm extremely grateful for. Let me know what you think!

The Countdown's On!!!
So, I seriously have this thing with birds. I don't quite understand it, but everytime I turn around I'm either killing one, or severely scaring or maiming another. The thing is, I like birds! I'm not on a hunt to kill or destroy them! I think they're pretty and sweet...pretty sweet. But either I'm just coming in contact with all of the suicidal and delusional birds, or I have a secret vendetta against them. Secret even to myself.
Yesterday I was driving to church when I saw this little bird swooping towards my wind screen. They usually divert at the last minute (those little daredevils), but this one splatted on the top left hand corner of the windshield and spiraled high into the air and into the field. I died a little on the inside and laughed a little on the outside.
I don't know if I wrote anything about it before I left, but I had a bird come into Global Grounds while I was working. He wanted a capuccino. Just kidding. He did come in though, and I scared him so badly that he rammed himself into the window a few times and then perched himself on the fake plant in the corner. It was his only consolation. I didn't know what to do so I called Daryl, the Bird Whisperer, who lured said bird out of the store and into freedom.
But this is not why I am posting...I just went on a 3 paragraph tangent. Well done Jess! Anyway, I wanted to let all you lovely people know that my Alberta life is coming to an end. In 3 weeks' time I will be moving to Abbotsford to begin my studies at Columbia Bible College. I will be taking Foundation of Christian Missions, Cross Cultural Communication, and Intro to Conflict Management. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. It's been a long time since this little one has been to school. EEEEeeee!!!
Also, I just received my prayer cards so if any of you want them, either come find me (if you are within walking/driving/running/biking distance) or email me at yeshspoo@yahoo.ca and leave me your mailing address and I shall send you one so you can place me upon your fridge door, or anywhere else you deem appropriate.
